The Roman Family in New Orleans

The Family Dynasty

From their first arrival here in 1740, the Roman family had a plan to build a financial and political dynasty in the French Creole region of Louisiana. At its peak, the extended Roman family controlled properties and businesses stretching from Opelousas, Louisiana to Gulfport, Mississippi. The bulk of the family holdings were in New Orleans, and in St. James, Louisiana.
