Enhancements to the Sugarcane Theater

Enhancements to Our Sugarcane Theater!

Sugarcane and sugar hold fascinating aspects of the history of Oak Alley Plantation, touching on facets of French Creole life, slavery, politics and economics, the US Civil War, and much more. We are continuously enhancing our Sugarcane Theater, and are pleased to show off some of its new exhibits.

Today, we have an 1800s-era plow and sugar barrel, a sugar kettle and skimmer, and other exhibits to help explain sugar's impact on this place and it's people. And, there's more to come!

Come by for a tour if you are interested in learning more about how sugarcane impacted the history of Oak Alley, and continues to impact our lives to this very day!
