Weddings and Receptions
Children dream, the young aspire, the old
remember! Of the dreams, aspirations and
memories in life, none can compare with
those brightened by thoughts of a joyful
wedding day; a new journey, two hearts
joined as one. What couple does not envision
a perfect setting for that special day?
Here within
reach is a spot where traditions from around
the world can freely harmonize with golden
days of past elegance, blend with the
unequaled beauty of nature, and are
captured, just for you, at Oak Alley
Plantation, on the banks of the Mississippi,
in Vacherie, Louisiana. The spectacular
avenue of 300 year old live oak trees
leading from the river to a graceful
antebellum manor is recognized the world
over for that
catch-your-breath-at-first-sight
enchantment.
Be it a ceremony large or small,
representative of unique cultures or good
old southern family customs, nothing is ever
out of place in such a setting. It is indeed
where dreams come true, aspirations are
realized, memories are made and forever
etched in gold.
Although it is true that many fairytale
weddings have been celebrated at Oak Alley,
and many couples have returned each
anniversary to relive the moment and
rekindle the magic, the marvel is that each
Oak Alley wedding day, every memory, is
extraordinary and arranged with such
individual care and attention to the wishes
and needs of those involved that it seems
that only they have been singled out to
experience the wonder of it all. While it is
you, the bride and groom, who will choose
the cast, the characters, and the stage
under a canopy of great oaks has already
been dramatically set by nature for the
fulfillment of all your expectations.
As plans take shape, couples may wish to
consider prenuptial events, ranging from
bridal showers to bridal portraits and even
engagement parties. Oak Alley Plantation is
also a unique setting for that perfect
proposal. Rehearsal dinners, ranging from
small gatherings on the veranda, to formal
sit-down dinners in the dining room are
expertly prepared and served by Oak Alley's
select catering personnel.
Referrals for local florists,
photographers, and videographers are
provided upon request. A list of officials
is available, as well as a variety of
choices of music and musicians for the
ceremony and reception. Experienced sales
consultants can share photos depicting
popular creative designs and activities to
assist in your selection of the agenda.
Shaping The Dream
As they walk the illuminated path to the
back of the manor, your guests will be
greeted by tour guides in antebellum
costume. They will then be directed to where
the ceremony is to take place beneath the
famed canopy of oaks with luminaries
lighting the tree lined path from the
ceremony site to the river. The magic begins
to unfold before your eyes!
Immediately following the ceremony, your
guests will be courteously attended by our
catering staff, serving hand passed hors
d'oeuvres. Your guests may enjoy assorted
delicacies, created by our executive chef,
from action stations set on and around the
veranda and a buffet station in the formal
dining room. Tours of the antebellum mansion
will also be available throughout the
evening.
Oak Alley staff members represent the best
in experience, professionalism and true
southern hospitality. We can assure you that
your special day will be a memorable
experience, not only for you, but also for
your family and friends.
Receptions at the antebellum mansion are
held after tour hours. Oak Alley Restaurant
caters all special events held at the
plantation. Both formal dinner and hors
d'oeuvres menus, along with bar packages,
are available so the bride and groom can
customize the reception to meet their needs
and desires.
