. . . the staff was the best part of the stay

We enjoyed our time there, although it was too brief.  We may be reaching out again soon for another stay. The grounds were amazing, however, the staff was the best part of the stay.  From the food, to our sleeping arrangements to the grounds crew, everyone was so nice.

Newly refurbished with modern amenities . . .

The cottages gets six stars. Tripadvisor should break this listing up into 3 sections – 1) The alley, house and plantation tour, 2) the restaurant and then 3) the cottages. There are a zillion reviews on how cool the alley is and I agree. The restaurant is where it needs to be – good value for money with great service. The cottages, however, is in a class of it’s own. Newly refurbished with modern amenities in a super quiet setting is perfect for anybody wanting a quiet stay on a beautiful property. I can honestly say the 4 days we stayed there were one of the best stays we ever had. Being able to wander through the Oak Alley after the day visitors are gone is part of the special appeal.

So loved our visit here in October . . .

Beautiful!!  My husband and I planned to stay one night here at their on-site cabins (the big house is for tours only) – we so loved it that we asked to stay one additional night. Had walk-in shower, Tempurpedic bed, wood floors, screened in porch with rocking chairs – catered in dinner (what more does one want??) Anyway, our cabin was already booked, but they contacted the incoming guests to see if they would switch to the cabin next door (identical) and all was good. The history, the upkeep, the atmosphere, the tour, the food, the grounds — all was inspiring. Oh yeah, even the resident cat “Alley” was friendly! So loved our visit here in October – just as the sugar cane was harvested. Will be coming back!!

you don’t want to miss the breakfast . . .

Don’t forget the pecan pie!  The cottages are like living in your own little house, complete with antiques and creaky wooden floors. If you check in after touring the plantation, they will hand you a cold lemonade and whisk you to the parking lot in a golf cart. There are robes and a jacuzzi tub. There is the opportunity to walk the grounds at night after all the day visitors have left-we saw an owl. You can order dinner and they will leave it in the fridge-they give ample portions of food. There is an outdoor patio to have coffee at in your robes. Too bad you have to get dressed, but you don’t want to miss the breakfast they provide-great biscuits!

5B was the perfect balance of privacy and price

Sleep over at oak valley and have that view all to yourself at sunrise!  Added a day on to my work trip to New Orleans so I could spent a day and night touring the plantations. The minute I arrived at Oak Alley, all of the stress from the day of travel just melted away. Made it just in time for the last tour but was annoyed that there were so many other people in all of my photos. Dinner was delicious – and the mint julep hit the spot! Slept like a baby in the tempurpedic bed. 5B was the perfect balance of privacy and price. Set an alarm and was drinking coffee under the oaks at sunrise. It was perfect!

The cabin was beautiful.

My husband and I stayed in cabin 9 back in March. We had a good visit. I wanted to ask if you would would share  where you bought the blanket that was between the sheets. It was a perfect weight for us and it kept us warm. I want that for our bed at home. You are a good Decorator!  The cabin was beautiful. Everything about it was nice. We will visit again.

. . . special photographic opportunity

We had an absolutely wonderful experience last weekend, thank you so very much for all the attention given to details!  We also greatly appreciated being surrounded with so many beautiful antiques and other considerations while staying in Cottage 3!  I generally do a lot of research before going to a new place to be as familiar as possible when I arrive, and there were still many wonderful things to learn when we got there, in addition to being a special photographic opportunity.  Wonderful on so many levels!  Our greatest thanks to the Stewart family for making this all happen, keeping a priceless piece of history in motion and presenting it in such a respectable way, providing many jobs for the local community, just can’t say enough good things about what this place represents.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!

The food was delicious and the music was great.

We enjoyed our visit very much. This was our third visit but the first overnight stay. Cabin #9 was great. The food was delicious and the music was great. I expected a little more for the bonfire but overall everything could not have been better. Would highly recommend Oak Alley.

We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary.

My wife and I stayed at Oak Alley earlier this week, Sept. 20-22.   We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary.  I had searched for the perfect place, and I must say that I found it.  Our stay was wonderful and could not have been any better.  I just wanted to send an email and let you know.  Thanks for a wonderful time.

The staff at Oak Alley were impeccable . . .

Our stay on April 4th in cottage 3 was an absolute highlight to a trip that included New Orleans, Ocean Springs MS, and St. Martinsville.  The staff at Oak Alley were impeccable not only with service, beginning with the lemonade at check, friendly from the registration desk tot he golf cart escort, to our tour guide at the big house, the cottage review,  the suggestion of chilled wine at the gift shop, to the amazing Blue Bell Creole Cream Cheese ice cream and its server; but to the fun bantering, lighthearted and kind employees who were gracious and what southern hospitality is all about.  My husband commented that whoever does the hiring should be given  high praise for Oak Alley staff.
The Do Not Disturb package was an added bonus and such a pleasure at such a reasonable price!  Strolling the grounds after hours with a mint julep and Easter morning breakfast with the best, creamiest grits I ate the whole trip (my husband is a yankee so I got his too!!) was a delight.  An additional bonus was a full moon sitting out on the deck.
WE could not have asked for more and sorry to have missed meeting you.  I have praised our experience from Houston to Albuquerque.  All the best for the rest of the season to you and your staff.

. . . insanely comfortable bed and bedding

I would like to extend my sincere thanks and gratitude to each and every person responsible for one of the best vacations we’ve ever had! Our stay on May 23rd and 24th in cottage 4 was amazing. The cottage was superb, spacious, clean and like a home away from home. The location, as always, was perfect being right there at Oak Alley.
This was our second stay with you, and we will definitely be returning many times. Oak Alley is one of my very favorite places. Louisiana is just an amazing place with so much to see and do. After an extended stay in New Orleans, we really look forward to the peace and tranquility Oak Alley is so famous for!
Once again, my daughter was totally in love with the bed and bedding she had. She still talks of our first stay with you, and the insanely comfortable bed and bedding she had then!!
Again, I want to extend my sincere and heartfelt thank you to…Housekeeping, for the impeccably clean and cozy cottage. Restaurant employees and chef, for the wonderful service, delicious meals and cozy atmosphere. Groundskeeping, for the beautifully groomed gardens, trees and grounds that add so much to the visual beauty of Oak Alley! Gift Shop employees, for being so helpful, kind and hospitable. You always make my shopping experience a joy! Ticket Office and Late Night Check In Staff, for your help with questions, burned out light bulbs, and the professionalism you convey. Reservation Staff, for your kindness, patience and help on the phone. Mansion Staff and tour guides, for the amazing upkeep, beautiful display of fresh floral arrangements, wonderful tours and expertise of one of the most beautiful places in Louisiana!
Mr. and Mrs. Mayhew, for all of the hard work, dedication, and love you have poured into your Beautiful Oak Alley. Thank you for sharing with us, this delightful piece of paradise, and your beautiful flower gardens. I hope I haven’t forgotten any of the talented, hardworking and loyal people that so deserve to be thanked. Oak Alley wouldn’t be the amazingly beautiful and wonderful place it is today without the time and dedication of each and every one of you.
We will see you in three years….if not sooner!!!

– Luc

. . . our guests got to enjoy what true Southern hospitality is

Jordan and I just wanted to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all of your hard work with our wedding! Everyone we worked with or encountered was professional, friendly, efficient and perhaps most importantly for me, calming!
I had the utmost confidence in everyone’s abilities, and for good reason– you far surpassed our expectations and all of our guests got to enjoy what true Southern hospitality is.
The evening was magical, and the ladies on staff were not only totally on top of things but had a very soothing nature which I really appreciated.
Bravo to your exceptional team, and we look forward to the next time we get to visit!

I think we have started a new tradition in our family for weddings!

I just wanted to say thank you to you and everyone at Oak Alley! The wedding and reception were just beautiful! Lou and I and all our guests had a great time. Everyone has told me this was the prettiest and most fun wedding they have ever been to!  I think we have started a new tradition in our family for weddings! We have 6 daughters and nieces as potential future brides for Oak Alley. I’ll send you some photos when they come in!
Again thanks for everything – you are a great wedding planner!

The surprise birthday party for my dad was very successful.

Thank you again for your help. The surprise birthday party for my dad was very successful. He didn’t have a clue. The turnout was wonderful. I even met cousins for the first time. You know how Cajuns are. Large families.  Everyone stated that using Oak Alley Restaurant was a great idea and were very impressed with your pavilion and I was too. Even nicer than I remembered.
Thank you for the hospitality that day. Have a great year!

– Kathy

. . . we could not have had a better, more magical night.

We are both so happy with the way your entire staff handled everything. They did an amazing job and we could not have had a better, more magical night. Our guests were very impressed and happy (despite the plan B due to the rain) Everything was perfect!
Please give our regards to everyone that worked on our special day.

– Mr. & Mrs. Soreng
